How’s your ETA?
Here’s a description of the June 27 gathering for
house church members that Steve Weemes led. Steve is
one of the missionaries that Michael helps through
coaching/consulting. Michael helped Steve plan the
gathering.
Imagine that you’re serving a house church. It’s challenging work. To do that work, you need ETA:
Encouragement: After a welcome from Steve, you and your neighbor encourage each other by asking questions and praying. You ask your neighbor: What do you remember from our last session? How have you applied what you learned? How can I pray for you? Next, your neighbor asks you the same questions. Then you pray for each other.
Training: Then you get training on relating to others when doing evangelism. In groups, you brainstorm answers to 4 questions: How can you increase the number of contact times with a person? How can you do life together? How can you use teachable moments? How can you talk about important things?
You’re glad every group’s answers will be typed up and sent to you so that you can share them with other members of your house church.
Accountability: After enjoying refreshments of rice crackers and cold tea, you are asked to identify 1 action step you can take to more effectively relate to others when doing evangelism. You identify your action step, share it with your neighbor, and pray together that you’ll each be able to accomplish your action step.
Please keep praying:

- Praise God that house church members received encouragement, training, and accountability at the June 27 gathering.
- Praise God that we’re having good family time. We’ll be together until August 31.
- Ask God to help new CAJ staff and students make a smooth transition to Japan/CAJ.
- Ask God to help Kim effectively revise her curriculum. She’s working to further emphasize creation-fall-redemption.
