Mrs. T is getting baptized!

I was deep in the mundane stuff of everyday
life—insurance forms, to be precise—when the doorbell
rang.
“Congratulations!”
It was the pastor and his wife from the church where I used to teach an English Bible class.
But what were they congratulating me for?
I was a little confused, but I beamed back anyway, not wanting to dissipate their obvious joy.
Then the pastor explained: Mrs. T, who was in the English Bible class I had taught several years ago, had decided to commit herself to Jesus in baptism on Easter Sunday.
He showed me the testimony she will read, all written out in Japanese, with one line of English toward the end: “Whatever happens, there is someone who knows me completely and still loves me deeply.”
“That’s a quotation from the testimony you shared with the class,” the pastor told me. “Mrs. T saw God’s grace and love in your life, treasured the words for a few years, and decided to receive it for herself this time. She will also quote I Corinthians 12:9-10, claiming Christ’s grace as sufficient for her.”
Praise God for working in Mrs. T’s heart!
